Shahrukh is the Chief Internal Auditor at IKEA Saudi Arabia. He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a chartered member of the Institute of Internal Auditors - UK and Ireland (Chartered Internal Auditor) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments – UK. He holds an MBA in Finance and Masters in Economics. He has more than 18 years of extensive Internal Audit, Internal Controls and Corporate Governance experience.

Before joining IKEA Saudi Arabia couple of year ago, he spent last 10 years in London working with Deloitte and Ernst & Young with risk and advisory services.

During his career he led number of engagements including outsourced internal audit, internal controls, SOX and investigation. He has worked across the industries but in past most of his time was spent with financial services clients.

He has been involved in GRC solution implementation in one of world’s leading credit card issuer. He was also involved in a large scale finance transformation project which included integration of accounting systems of two leading financial institutions of the UK, in this engagement he led Controls work stream to ensure SAP GRC implementation in finance processes.

In almost 20 years of solid professional experience - at international level - in financial auditing (Arthur Andersen), controlling, corporate finance (Alcatel), a controlling focused management consulting company (Horváth & Partners) as well as in several managerial internal audit roles (IVG Immobilien AG, OC Oerlikon AG & Swiss International Air Lines Ltd.); Torben accumulated a huge knowledge about the functioning of organizations’ in general. This broad background supports him in the definition of a best-practice Internal Audit philosophy and approach. Together with five other financial experts, Torben has established the SWISS Financial Experts Association, in 2012. Since early 2014, Torben is heading up the Internal Audit Division at Abu Dhabi Airports, where he was able to significantly improve Internal Audit performance.

French Caldwell

One of the foremost thought leaders in IT, French Caldwell has been decisively shaping the GRC market for the last 12 years.

French is a former Fellow and Vice President at Gartner where he led their GRC research, including the influential Gartner Magic Quadrant on GRC, as well as research into disruptive technology. He also worked with the White House and U.S. Naval War College in 2002 to develop the Digital Pearl Harbor war game, the first ever strategic assessment of cyber war strategies. In 2012, the game took on a very real form with the strategic attacks on oil and gas infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. French is also a retired naval officer and a nuclear submariner. Post-retirement, French served as a diplomatic liaison to NATO for the post-Cold War Congressional Commission on Roles and Missions of the Armed Forces.

As an academic, French served as a Federal Executive Fellow at the Brookings Institution, an Adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Research Advisor at the George Washington University School of Engineering Management. He has written a book on international law, and has over 400 published research papers.

French has a PhD in Law and Policy, an MA in International Economics, Strategy and Diplomacy, and a BS in Oceanography.

Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of enterprise GRC, GRC technology, corporate compliance, and policy management. With 18+ years of experience, Michael helps organizations improve GRC processes, design and implement GRC architecture, and select technologies that are effective, efficient, and agile. He is a sought-after keynote speaker, author, and advisor and is noted as the "Father of GRC" - being the first to define and model the GRC market in February 2002 while at Forrester.

Michael has contributed to U.S. Congressional reports and committees, and currently serves on the Leadership Council of the OCEG and chairs the OCEG Technology Council, OCEG Policy Management Group, and the OCEG GRC Architect Group.

Michael is quoted extensively in the press and is respected for his commentary on broadcast news channels. He is an Honorary Life Member in The Institute of Risk Management for his contributions to risk management and GRC. In June 2007, Treasury & Risk recognized Michael as one of the 100 most influential people in finance with specific accolades noting his work in "Governance and Compliance: Saving the Planet and the Corporation" and as a "Rising Star in Rocky Times: Corporate America’s Outstanding Executives."

Prior to founding GRC 20/20 Research, Michael was a Vice-President and ’Top Analyst’ at Forrester Research, Inc. Before Forrester, he led the risk/compliance consulting practice at a professional services firm, and prior to that has specific experience managing compliance and risk within commercial organizations.

Michael’s educational experience consists of a Juris Doctorate in law and a Bachelor of Science in Business. Michael is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a research focus in ethics and church history. He is a GRCP (GRC Professional), CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethic Professional), and a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). OCEG has recognized him as an OCEG Fellow for his contributions and advancement of GRC practices around the world.

Dr. Ashraf Gamal El Din is the Chief Executive Officer of Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance, the DIFC. He is also a jury member of the Arabia CSR Award. Prior to joining Hawkamah, Dr. Ashraf was the Executive Chairman of Egypt Post. Before that, he was the Deputy Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt. He was also the founder and Project Manager of the Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center working on promoting the concepts and application of CSR in Egypt. Furthermore, he was the Executive Director of the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIoD), the Institute of Corporate Governance in Egypt and the Arab Region Dr. Ashraf served as a board member and head of the Audit Committee in a number of listed, non-listed, State Owned and family owned companies. He also served a member of the General Assembly of the Holding Company for Transportation.

Furthermore, Dr. Ashraf is an Associate Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University and holds a PhD degree from Manchester University, UK, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, Canada. He further holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Cairo University with highest honor. Dr. Ashraf worked as head of Business Administration Department at Nile University for Graduate Studied, affiliated with the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology. Since 1997, he taught a large number of management and business courses in Egypt, the US, and the Gulf Area.

Mr. Almulla has an extensive experience in the field of I.T. for over 25 years. He has received Bachelor of Science from The University of Arizona in Computer Engineering in the year 1987 and completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from University of New England, Australia in the year 1993. Additionally, Mr. Almulla has completed the “Program for Executive Development” from International Institute for Management Development (IMD). Mr. Almulla has been working in all the areas in Information Technology department such as Application Development, Information Security, Architecture Designing and Networking, Process Control, etc. He started his career as a Programmer in 1988 in Dubai Aluminium Company Limited, and is currently Senior Vice President, Information Technology of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). He is also a member of the EGA Executive Management Committee.

Jamal Saleh is an Arab-American banker who has been in the banking industry for over 25 years, the first 10 of which were in New York (USA) in Private Banking and Asset Management. In addition, his experience covers Credit, Corporate Banking, Project Finance and, presently, Risk Management and Basel Accords. He graduated valedictorian (summa cum laude) from the United States, and is the holder of 6 professional certifications. He is presently heading Risk Management at Commercial Bank of Dubai (UAE) and is responsible for the implementation of Basel and has been given ownership for the formulation of full-fledged risk management plans for Credit, Market, Operational, and IT GRC Risk Management.

Mr. Saleh is frequent speaker at local, regional and international risk management forums, including the renowned Ri$kMinds-Geneva convention.

He is a regular TV and newspaper guest on issues pertaining to risk management, Basel Accord, local and regional Islamic and conventional banking, as well as GCC stock markets. He is also the Regional Director for PRMIA UAE Chapter.
